Sit/stand desks give students the opportunity to adjust their learning style whenever they see fit. Students with disabilities are not the only ones who benefit from movement throughout the day. Research indicates that sit/stand desks improve working memory, attentiveness, processing, physical health, and more.  With flexible seating already introduced into some classrooms through the use of medicine balls, yoga mats, stools, privacy panels, and carpet squares, this is the next step.  Student choice is an essential element in Lynbrook classrooms, in addition to learning through multiple modalities. These desks are sustainable and many students will be able to take advantage of their use for years to come.
